How we work with back pain
We start with your history and a movement screen. Most lower back complaints we see turn out to be a hip range problem, so we look at how your hips, trunk and upper back move as well as where it hurts. We keep what you tolerate, change what you do not and write every load down.
Who it fits
People with long-running back pain, people finished with physical therapy for their back and people afraid to lift again after a flare-up.
When to see a doctor first
See a doctor about new, severe or worsening back pain, or pain that comes with numbness, weakness or changes in bladder or bowel control. We are coaches, not clinicians. We do not diagnose or treat, and we work with your doctor or physical therapist's guidance, not in place of it.
See Personal Training and how we work between physical therapy and personal training.
